WWE Royal Rumble 2014: Predicting 30 Superstars Who Will Appear

The Mid-Card

The mid-card is arguably the backbone of the Rumble and is made up of the guys that are teetering on the edge between supporting roles and bonafide championship material. These are the guys that we watch out for every year with the hopes of a surprise victory or run to the final four that births a superstar. This isn€™t a division just about up and coming talent though, it also features many stars that have been relocated to the mid-card, either because they€™re getting up there in age or have derailed into nothingness. Regardless, these are all guys that you can expect to see in the Royal Rumble. 22. Roman Reigns The big man of the Shield is being prepared for a major push in 2014. A dominant Rumble performance, much like his dominant Survivor Series showing, is the perfect way to advance the Samoan. Some outlets are even tipping him to win. The Royal Rumble is an event that has made stars over the years, could Roman Reigns be the next breakout winner? 21. Dean Ambrose The Shield were the hottest commodity in wrestling at one point and still are on fire, despite being on the losing end of a feud with CM Punk. Furthermore, their leader could benefit with a strong showing in the Rumble match. Rumour is WWE are plotting a unification match between IC and US title at the Elimination Chamber PPV where he would square off against Big E. Langston. Expect that feud to be sparked by something that happens here. 20. Alberto Del Rio Alberto Del Rio has somewhat fallen out of the main event scene and doesn€™t exactly give the impression that he€™ll have a slight rejuvenation with a win, but he has already confirmed his participation on Monday Night Raw. 19. Ryback Over the weekend Ryback sent out some strange Tweets implying that he had been fired but he would then go on to confirm that his Twitter account was hacked. What€™s strange is that due to his complete falling out of the main event scene this was completely believable. The Royal Rumble does traditionally have a monster character of sorts which opens a window for Ryback to make in an impact. 18. Rey Mysterio Rey Mysterio is definitely one of the all-time greats although in his aging body he has been relocated to more of a mid-card role in the tag team division. He€™ll most likely enter to support younger talent and add some throwback appeal. The former Royal Rumble winner is usually a delight in this annual extravaganza but given his age and physical well-being he definitely isn€™t a candidate for winning though. 17. Bray Wyatt The Wyatts are one of WWE€™s largest commodities, especially after bringing fan favorite Daniel Bryan over to their dark and creepy side, so it only makes sense for Bray Wyatt to be a competitor. He likely isn€™t going to win but he€™ll make his presence known. 16. Antonio Cesaro It would be nice to see Cesaro just win the whole Rumble considering that he is one of the best heel workers in quite some time and actually has skill in the ring to boot. Nevertheless, he€™ll probably just get some decent time involved before his inevitable elimination. 15. Big E Langston Big E has succesfully got over as a face in the latter half of 2013, in addition to drastically improving as an in-ring worker. A favourite of WWE management, he is in line for an even bigger push this coming year - and that should start with an impressive showing in the Royal Rumble match up.
