Just two men have ever emerged victorious from the No. 29 spot; Brock Lesnar in 2003, and Edge in 2010. The only thing to separate these two is Brock's four eliminations in under nine minutes, compared to the two men Edge dispatched of in just under eight minutes.

Before the PPV had started, Brock's participation was not guaranteed. Lesnar overcame The Big Show in the first match of the night, earning himself a place in the match.

After entering the ring, Lesnar almost immediately eliminated Team Angle (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) in one fell swoop. While the two men were still standing on the outside of the ring, in a typical show of the current Universal Champion's strength, Brock effortlessly F5'd Matt Hardy over the top rope and onto the pair below.

Shortly after The Undertaker eliminated Batista, only he and Brock remained. The latter was able to take advantage of a p*ssed off Batista returning to attack The Deadman, winning the Rumble and booking a match against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania.
