WWE Smackdown was taped this week in Portland, Oregon, with Chris Jericho opening the show against AJ Styles. However, The Social Outcasts interrupted, and the opener was turned into a tag match. Don't worry, Styles and Jericho still took place in the main event! The opener finished with Styles and Jericho defeating the Outcasts. After the match, Jericho attacked Styles, adding further heat to their feud. The Dudley Boyz came out for a promo in which they ripped on The Usos. They've changed their look to be more street, and they're already infinitely more interesting than what they were as babyfaces. Sasha Banks defeated Naomi with the Bank Statement. Becky Lynch did commentary. The Wyatt Family had a promo, with Bray Wyatt saying he's taking out the big guys in WWE The Lucha Dragons and Neville defeated Stardust and The Ascension. Chris Jericho defeated AJ Styles in the main event, following a Codebreaker for the clean win. The crowd was hot, and at one point AJ almost hit the Styles Clash. But this was Jericho's night, and presumably it leads to a third and final thriller at Fastlane. Smackdown went off the air with Jericho celebrating in the ring, revelling in his current heel act against Styles.
