WWE Smackdown Spoilers Results (July 28)

Another chance for Kevin Owens and Cesaro to continue their rivalry.

This week's edition of Smackdown took place in Tulsa, Oklahoma as the road to SummerSlam continued. During Monday night Raw, WWE advertised a first time ever singles match between Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella for Smackdown. The match never took place although Lynch beat Brie Bella during the Main Event taping earlier in the evening. Nikki likely missed the show due to her boyfriend John Cena suffering a broken nose on Raw. There was no divas match on the show. Smackdown began with WWE Champion Seth Rollins doing a promo. He was bragging about how he pummeled John Cena on Raw and broke his nose. His promo was interrupted by Cesaro, which led to a match between them. Seth Rollins and Cesaro had a match that ended in a disqualification win for Cesaro when Kevin Owens showed up to attack him. After the match, Rollins teased a confrontation with Owens until they worked together to double team Cesaro. Lucha Dragons and Lose Matadores teamed up to defeat The New Day and The Ascension to further the storyline of trying to find the next Tag Team Title contenders. Rusev did a promo with Summer talking about how Lana's attack on Raw when she rubbed Summer's face into the dead fish. Rusev defeated Jack Swagger like he has done so many times. Swagger got a nice ovation since he was in his home state of Oklahoma. After the match, Rusev attacked again, but Swagger countered and applied the Patriot Lock. Stardust defeated R-Truth in a short match. After the match, Stardust did a promo about Neville and then Neville showed up to chase off Stardust. Cesaro teamed with Dean Ambrose to defeat Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins in the main event. The ending of the match saw Ambrose counter a Popup Powerbomb and then Cesaro rolled up Owens for the win. Cesaro and Ambrose celebrated to end the show. A five match show likely means several matches got a lot of time. It's interesting to note that Roman Reigns didn't work Raw or Smackdown this week, so he was likely given the week off. Thanks to Lordsofpain for the results.
