WWE Survivor Series - ISIS Terrorist Threat Latest

Will the PPV go ahead after claims of terrorist attack threat on venue?

The hacker collective known as Anonymous is claiming to have unearthed evidence that the Islamic State terrorist group are planning an assault on WWE's Survivor Series at the Philips Arena this Sunday night. The alleged plot on the WWE PPV venue in Atlanta, Georgia would have been one of several terrorist attacks on Sunday with locations in Italy, Indonesia, Lebanon and another attack on Paris, France also named as potential targets. A breaking news report from the International Business Times on Saturday read;
"Anonymous also said the Islamic State group is planning an assault at the WWE Survivor Series event scheduled to take place in the Philips Arena in Atlanta Sunday at 7.30 p.m. EST, as well as attacks at multiple events in Paris."
The FBI's Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta office also issued a statement regarding the matter:
"The FBI is aware of reports of an alleged threat that includes an Atlanta, Georgia venue and event. While we take all threats seriously, we do not have specific or credible information of an attack at this time. We have, however, made the proper notifications as we continue to work closely with our law enforcement and private sector partners to keep our community safe."
With the world on heightened alert after last week's tragic terror attacks in France which resulted in the death of over 100 people, WWE were very quick to release a statement assuring fans that as things happen, the Survivor Series PPV was going ahead as planned;
€œWWE Survivor Series is currently scheduled as planned while we investigate the matter with federal, state and local authorities."
The director of the Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Jim Butterworth, said his agency is working closely with the FBI, the Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center and others in evaluating the threat on a Sunday WWE event in Atlanta reported by the group Anonymous. In revealing the alleged terrorist plots, the Anonymous group said of their intentions;
"The goal is to make sure the whole world, or at least the people going to these events, know that there have been threats and that there is possibility of an attack to happen. Another goal is to make sure Daesh knows that the world knows and cancels the attacks, which will disorientate them for a while."
Those locations and events around the world were named as; * Cigales Electroniques with Vocodecks, RE-Play & Rawtor at Le Bizen (Paris) * Concrete Invites Drumcode: Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joel Mull at Concrete (Paris) * Demonstration by Collectif du Droit des Femmes (Paris) * Feast of Christ the King celebrations (Rome/Worldwide) * Al-Jihad, One Day One Juz (Indonesia) * Five Finger Death Punch (Milan) * University Pastoral Day (Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, Lebanon) Stay tuned for more details on this very serious situation as they become available.
