As WWE's poster famously said last year, it's not Tender Loving Care. Absolutely fair comment as well, given that these gimmick matches are anything but tender on the body, zero care was taken in the booking, and not a single person tuning in found themselves loving any of it.

This year should be different though, if only because Jim Neidhart won't be printed on any of the furniture.

Last night's SmackDown didn't see the admittedly thin card gain any additional beef, but we did learn that The New Day and The Revival's potential Christmas cracker now comes with a ladder. Other than that, the final push left things refreshingly trim, meaning that compared to last year's chunky 12 match affair, the 2019 edition has a chance to be more than the sum of its parts.

The women's tag-team match might well steal the show, but in Wyatt/Miz, New Day/Revival, and Black/Murphy there's plenty else that might well catch the eye. Hey, you might even get Baron Corbin walking Roman Reigns around on a leash at some point, who knows?

Well, the internet does. We've scoured the depths of it for all manner of rumour, whisper, expectation, hearsay and "sources are telling me" to see what the word on the grapevine is for our last WWE PPV of the year. Let's get up to our nuts in it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
