After six long years of taking souls and digging holes as 'The Deadman' in WWE, The Undertaker decided to make a change. While he was already no stranger to adapting with the times and changing things up, none of his previous transformations were quite as drastic as the one that came in late '96 when he returned following his burial at the hands of Mankind.
Gone were the hats, ties and trench coats, the undead makeup and the grey/purple gear, and in their place were Gothic robes with Dracula-like collars, black eyeliner and an all-black wrestling attire made of leather. However, it wasn't just his look that changed.
As the Lord of Darkness, 'Taker would make some dramatic alterations in and out of the ring, discarding his zombie-like mannerisms in favour of a more agile, intense and aggressive approach while also showcasing us a more demonic side to his personality that worked incredibly well with the more cutting-edge product of the Attitude Era.
