WWE Update - Daniel Bryan's Status For Extreme Rules

The month of April has been full of ups and downs for the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. At WrestleMania 30, he ended the night as the WWE WHC and the weekend after he married WWE Diva Brie Bella. The wedding that was filmed for Total Divas. This past Monday, it was announced that his father has passed away. Losing his father just days after returning from his honeymoon must have been incredibly hard for Bryan to deal with. It wasn't known if Bryan was going to appear on Raw, but WWE did announce that Bryan was going to appear on Raw. They put him on Raw in the first segment. It looked as though he was distraught just standing in the ring, which was understandable considering what happened to his father. Bryan didn't say a word. Instead, he got destroyed by his former tag team partner, who was back to wearing the red mask on his face and is as evil as ever. Kane gave Bryan three Tombstones: on the floor, on the steel steps and on the announce table. Bryan was stretchered out with his wife Brie at his side. A report from PWInsider notes that WWE officials gave Bryan the option of skipping Raw and to go home, but he said no. It's understandable that he wanted to be with his WWE family because he likely felt comfortable there. The storyline with Kane was done to get Bryan off the show early. There's some uncertainty as to whether or not Bryan will be on Raw next week or if he will be off until the match at Extreme Rules the week after. There's a feeling that Kane came off so strong that they could keep Bryan out until Extreme Rules and the match would have more of an underdog vs monster feel to it. It's all a matter of how Bryan feels. The story could likely use a promo from Bryan about how he wants to prove he's a fighting champion and isn't afraid of somebody like Kane. There was also the matter of Kane scaring Brie multiple times during the act, so having Bryan stand up for his wife will make him a more noble champion also. There's one more episode of Raw before Extreme Rules. While the presence of Daniel Bryan would certainly help the show and the storyline he's involved in, it's also understandable if Bryan needs to take more time off to be with his family as they deal with the loss of his father. Our sympathies go out to Bryan and the entire Danielson family.
