WWE WrestleMania To Go Hollywood Again?

NFL's St. Louis Rams new 100,000 seater stadium could host future Mania?

As with every January, speculation is rampant over potential future WrestleMania locations. Around now is the time where WWE let us know where the following year's Mania will be held. Recently, we heard rumours that WWE were eyeing Florida once again as a potential Mania location, returning to the Sunshine State after the successes of WrestleMania 28 (The Rock's return vs John Cena, Undertaker vs HHH Hell in a Cell) and WrestleMania 24 (Edge vs Taker, Flair's retirement match vs Shawn Michaels). Now comes word from F4WOnline (via LOP) that Los Angeles is being discussed as a potential home for a WrestleMania in the coming years. With this rumour, next year's WrestleMania 33 is not specifically being mentioned, just rather that LA could be a potential location soon.

Interesting, on Tuesday it was revealed that the NFL's St. Louis Rams will be moving to Los Angeles with plans to build NFL's biggest stadium in the Inglewood area. Concept artwork of the stadium is above. Costing a whopping $3 billion, the brand new stadium would hold around 70,240 seats with the potential to expand to 100,00 for events with standing room areas, such as wrestling. 100,000 seats would once again give WWE the challenge of selling out a huge venue and it's of course the target number for this year's WrestleMania 32 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The venue makes a lot of sense for WWE if they believe their business is hot and even speculation around a venue like this is promising for how they feel about sales to this year's show. Mark Williams who works for the company designing the stadium, said to to the LA Times:
€œIt's going to be so much more than going to a football game. You're going to be absorbed into the site, absorbed into the stadium and get a very wide bandwidth of experience. It's the kind of memory people are going to cherish for a lifetime.€
The last time WrestleMania went "Hollywood" was for 2005's WrestleMania 21 from the Staples Center when a 20,193 seater arena was used for a show headlined by Triple H vs Batista and John Cena vs JBL in two respective World Title bouts. You can re-live that event with our very own Kenny McIntosh who recounts his experiences of attending WrestleMania 21 HERE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yre18rIp85w Expect more concrete news on WWE's plans over next year's Mania to come in the coming weeks.
