WWE WrestleMania 30: 5 Reasons John Cena vs. The Undertaker Must Main-Event

4. John Cena Is The Streak's Most Credible Threat

John Cena Wwe If there has been a downside to Undertaker's incredible undefeated streak, it has been that his matches have become increasingly predictable. Unless he was facing a bonafide star on the rise like Batista or Edge or Randy Orton €“ who could have used "ending 'The Streak'" as a career-defining moment to take their careers to the next level - it was virtually a foregone conclusion that Taker was going to win again at WrestleMania. As lauded as were the most recent matches of "The Streak within 'The Streak,'" not Shawn Michaels, Triple H, or CM Punk was really thought to be a believable threat by the fanatics of wrestling that spend time analyzing it. The sports betting line on the pre-determined outcomes of Taker's WrestleMania matches surely offered overwhelming odds that The Deadman would emerge victorious. Only Betty Lou Who would have taken the bets against Taker in the past. Now, throw John Cena on the other end of "versus Undertaker" and see how the odds makers handle their business. Cena evokes a reaction out of everyone. He is as much The Rock of his generation in that respect as he is the Hulk Hogan of his generation in every other. Love him or hate him, people have an opinion of him. To the casual viewer, Cena is the man that just defeated The Rock for the WWE Championship at the last WrestleMania and holds wins over the likes of Edge, Big Show, JBL, Trips, and Michaels at past WrestleManias. Combine his track record with his status as "The Man" in the WWE over the past decade and even the most diehard of fans would have to think twice about automatically assuming that Taker was going to defeat him. Would the odds still stack in The Phenom's favor? Assuredly. Cena, though, would guarantee more than a few slivers of doubt creeping into the minds of the millions watching at home.
