WWE WrestleMania 30: 8 Matches Expected To Take Place

With just two more weeks of WWE television to go before WrestleMania, it appears as though we may finally know the full lineup. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported about the eight matches that WWE has planned for the four hour show taking place on April 6th in New Orleans. Here's a listing of the matches that have been made official as well as those that will be official in the coming weeks. Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan - This will likely take place in the first hour because the winner of this match will wrestle in the main event match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Randy Orton and Batista. This stipulation was added on Monday's Raw when Triple H said he's going for it all after he beats Daniel Bryan. It would be a shock if Bryan didn't win this match. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. Batista vs. ?? - As mentioned, either Daniel Bryan or Triple H will join this match. It's expected that it will go on last during the WrestleMania 30 broadcast. The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar - Both men are expected on Raw in Brooklyn this Monday night. After two weeks of Lesnar not being there and Undertaker not appearing on Raw this week, the match could use some kind of physical altercation to build up the excitement level for the showdown. John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt - In a match between WWE's biggest name and a rising star, this match is unpredictable. While most expect a Cena win, it may not happen. There are currently no plans for Wyatt's "family members" Luke Harper and Erick Rowan in another match, so it's likely that they will interfere in some way during this match. That doesn't mean Wyatt will win. It just means Cena faces an uphill battle. Battle Royal in tribute to Andre the Giant - We know there will be 30 people in this match. While some names have been added and removed, the favorites are clear. Established top guys like Big Show and Sheamus have been pushed heavily for it while a younger wrestler like Big E could really benefit from a win. Other names expected in the match are The Miz, Titus O'Neil, Kofi Kingston, Alberto Del Rio, Fandango, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler, Christian, Damien Sandow, Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre. That would still leave open 13 other spots, so they will tap into the rest of the roster and possibly bring back some surprises as well. The Shield vs. Kane and the New Age Outlaws - As we covered yesterday, this match was set up at the Smackdown tapings this week. With The Shield booked as babyfaces of late, it's likely they'll get the win and their split could happen in the spring and summer months. Tag Team Titles: The Usos vs. The Real Americans (Cesaro & Jack Swagger) vs. Rybaxel (Ryback & Curtis Axel) - Since the Outlaws are in the six man tag match and Goldust is in the battle royal with Cody Rhodes, it would appear that this is the tag title match. It would probably be better if it was just the Usos vs. Real Americans, but it's understandable why WWE wants to get the Rybaxel team in there since both guys were pushed well in 2013. The match will likely see Cesaro turn babyface to break free from Swagger. It will mean more if they do it at WrestleMania. Divas Title: AJ Lee vs. ??? - We don't know yet. Based on recent TV developments, her friend Tamina may want a shot at her. In addition to her, stars of Total Divas like Natalya, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella and Naomi (who pinned AJ in a tag on Raw) all could get title shots too. It's possible they might go with a six-pack challenge. It's unlikely that AJ Lee will leave WrestleMania as the Divas Champion, which is fine because it's been nearly a year long title reign for her. There's likely going to be some match on the pre-show as well since that's two hours long. Perhaps NXT performers will be able to have some matches. A NXT divas match and a possible tag match between top NXT male wrestlers would be a good way to give them experience working in front of 70,000 fans. It's not like they can get that opportunity every day. Those are the eight matches. Between all the video packages, promos, honoring the Hall of Famers and other events, they will have to plan everything out meticulously. The top four matches will likely all get 20 minutes of in-ring time or more while the others will have to make do with what they are given. It's a strong card that is definitely better now that they set up the opportunity for Daniel Bryan to be in the main event.
