14. Greatest Royal Rumble - A Green Belt In The Desert

What Happened: Braun Strowman - who else? - withstands the efforts of 49 other men to emerge as the winner of the first-ever (and almost certainly last ever) Greatest Royal Rumble. He proudly holds a tiny green belt aloft - which we never see again (unless Daniel Bryan wittily adopts it).

Other than the inevitable tedium of Braun Strowman prevailing, as his over-push was slowly beginning to dilute his popularity, nobody could possibly have cared whatsoever about the outcome of the context-free 'record breaking' Royal Rumble, designed solely for the propaganda purposes of the event's paymasters. For what it was worth, Yokozuna proxy Hiroki Sumi might as well have walked away with the gongs. Saudi higher-ups probably would have preferred it.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
