This week's episode of Monday Night Raw went up in flames - both literally and figuratively - as WWE's Universal Champion Seth Rollins turned catchphrase into reality as he set Bray Wyatt's Firefly Funhouse alight.

The Fiend made it out of the wreckage alive, but unfortunately Ramblin' Rabbit was not so fortunate. Wyatt made a heartbreaking Twitter post early today, confirming that his lagomorphic buddy is now gamboling in the great field in the sky.

There are a few reasons why Bray doesn't necessarily deserve our sympathy. British fans with long memories of Saturday night popular entertainment will be quick to channel Brian Connolly, and remind him that "it's a puppet!" Besides which, Wyatt has laid waste to the rabbit on multiple occasions in previous skits, à la South Park's Kenny.

That means it's likely to be back come Friday night.

Ramblin' Rabbit is the first WWE character to kick the bucket on air since Francesca, the New Day's original trombone, played its last tune at the hands of Chris Jericho in late 2006.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
