20 Best Matches From WWE's 'C' Shows

These matches are worth seeing, even if WWE didn't think so.

Raw is currently three hours long, and it feels like 12. That's the 'A' show. SmackDown is basically nothing but warmed-over rehashes of bad Raw matches and detailed recaps of the actual Raw. That's the 'B' show. So where does that leave WWE's lowest dregs, the dreaded 'C' shows?

Honestly, better than you might think.

Superstars and Main Event are often home to overlooked minor classics, likely because no one from WWE management is overbooking them with distraction roll-ups or count-outs. Many of them even have clean finishes, which are about as common on Raw as a run-in by a unicorn.

They're unimportant enough to slip through the cracks without getting obnoxious WWE storyline clichés all over them, and that makes them precious anomalies. They're showcase matches where overlooked talent can give it their all without Michael Cole yammering about hashtags and whatever John Cena's doing, mostly for their own satisfaction.

The following matches come not just from Superstars and Main Event, but also tertiary programs of years gone by, including Sunday Night Heat, Velocity, Saturday Morning Slam, and the old game show version of NXT. Fans of Shotgun Saturday Night and Jakked will be disappointed.

20. Daniel Bryan/Gail Kim Vs. Tyson Kidd/Melina - Superstars

Oh, WWE romances. What a tangled web they weave.

Daniel Bryan and Tyson Kidd are WWE's most visible husbands in 2015, but in 2011 Bryan was in a submission wrestling-based romance with Gail Kim, while Tyson had sided with Melina despite their real-life relationships with John Morrison and Natalya.

The relationship dynamics may have been difficult to suss out, but the wrestling was great.

Sure, Daniel Bryan wasn't DANIEL BRYAN yet, and Tyson Kidd was still sporting literally the worst haircut in human history, but they've always been great wrestlers with fantastic chemistry. This match was actually an entry in a long-running under-the-radar rivalry between the two that deserves much more attention than it gets.

Gail Kim and Melina are also fantastic, with Gail in particular tying her opponent into knots and annihilating her with hard strikes. In the end, the babyfaces utilize their superior communication skills to incapacitate both heels aimultaneously, showing that they truly are meant to be partners in life as well as in the ring.

Wait.
