WWE's Next Saudi Arabia Event Set For February?

WWE could be heading back to Saudi Arabia sooner than you think.

As reaffirmed in last year's press release following the Crown Jewel/late flight controversy, WWE is set to return to Saudi Arabia for two big pay-per-views every year for the remainder of their contract with the nation - and the first event of 2020 may have just been revealed.

According to PWInsider, the promotion's next big Saudi Arabian event will go down on 20 February, as will soon be confirmed via an official announcement. It should be noted, however, that the Wrestling Observer has issued a conflicting report, stating that the show will be held on 27 February.

Both of these are Thursday nights, meaning that WWE could be faced with a scheduling conflict between the Saudi Arabian show and that week's SmackDown episode.

The Observer's report states that WWE has held off on making the announcement due to the ongoing problems in the Middle East and the complications that blighted the aftermath of October 2019's Crown Jewel pay-per-view, when wrestlers were left stranded on the runway following an alleged technical fault with their flight.

Whatever the case, late February makes sense for the next Saudi PPV, given that Elimination Chamber doesn't go down until 8 March.
