Noam Dar could face up to five months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on his left knee.

The Scot was originally hurt during a fatal four-way match on the November 27 episode of Monday Night Raw, and has reportedly suffered "lingering issues" in the time since.

An MRI scan last week confirmed that he had torn his meniscus, an injury described by WWE.com as "fairly routine among athletes", although not without some considerable down-time.

Despite his setback, an upbeat Dar is quoted as saying that he believes his recovery period can be shortened with rehab work at his employers' Orlando Performance Centre.

A regular on the independent circuit until 2016, the 24-year-old announced himself on the WWE stage by reaching the quarter final stage of last year's Cruiserweight Classic.

After signing a full-time contract with the company shortly after, Dar has been consistently featured on 205 Live alongside the likes of Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak.

Main roster opportunities, however, have proved few and far between, with the Cruiserweight Title scene largely dominated this year by Enzo Amore and, until a couple of months ago, Neville.
