5 Parts Of Being A Superhero You Might Not Have Considered

1. Long Term Injury (for Non-Superpowered Heroes)

Unless you€™re completely invulnerable, your enemies are going to be punching you in the head. A lot. Boxers also make a career out of getting punched in the head, but in these cases there are referees, medical teams, rules, and tons of safety precautions. Also, the boxers aren€™t attacking each other with murderous rage or defending their lives. Still, boxing can lead to a condition called €œchronic traumatic encephalopathy,€ a whole slew of brain problems with such symptoms as memory loss, dementia, and motor problems (like Parkinson€™s Disease). Also, getting your nose and facial bones broken repeatedly doesn€™t do much for you in the looks department. You could end up with a nose that€™s permanently crooked or scar tissue all along your face. Fun! Even if you don€™t get punched in the face a lot, the stress on your body isn€™t going to be pretty either. There€™s a reason why former athletes often become sports commentators. Plenty of sitting down. So yeah, being a superhero looks like fun, but when you really think about it, maybe Peter Parker isn€™t so whiney after all.
