I couldnt find a good enough clip to really drive home the visual terror this character instills in us. Frank, an idiot to say the least, opens Pandoras box and buys himself a front row seat to eternal damnation. When his former lover makes the mistake of dropping blood on the attic floor, the very same attic where Frank punched his own ticket, he comes back slowly. And in pieces. By the middle of the movie, Frank has become what we can recognize as a man, but is missing, you know, skin. It is this make-up that makes us feel sick. Imaging the pain of even standing without skin, let alone sitting, talking, what have you.
5. High Tension - Mom Needs A Hand
When it comes to indie, foreign horror films, High Tension should always be at the top of the list. This mind game, blood-filled romp is one of the most graphic horror films I have ever seen. Following the story of Marie and Alex, best friends in college, what was supposed to be a quiet weekend studying at Alexs house turned into a nightmare. In one particular scene, the initial massacre, protagonist Marie finds herself in the bedroom closet. It is through the slats that Marie gets a front row seat to Alexs mothers mutilation. When I say mutilation, I mean, mutilation. Throat slashed, hand cut off, blood spraying everywhere. It was so bloody that the carnage makes audiences everywhere sick and shocked.
