5 Franchises That Should Get The SHIELD Treatment

4. Halo

We saw something viable as a Halo series in the Pre-Halo 4 run up with Forward onto Dawn. While the series never truly blew me away, I am willing to concede that there is potential there. The Halo universe is massive and Forward onto Dawn showed that a story in that mythos could be told without breaking the bank. Basing the story on lower ranked privates as they face the possibility of a Covenant invasion could be really quite interesting to watch. Of course, it does beg the question, where exactly do you place the continuity of this new show. Do we see the original Covenant take over that plagued the universe when Bungie were in charge or do we follow 343i's new story line? For me, I think fitting a tv series into the current planned trilogy could be smart. It would let us know what is going on in the down time between games and creates all kinds of great possibilities. Sure you could argue the games ingenious Spartan Ops series helps to do exactly that and has created an interesting precedent for episodic storytelling in large video game franchises. But I do think that the Halo universe is big enough and robust enough to hold a TV series as well. Casting Master Chief as an almost mythic soldier in the universe cancels out the need to see Chief on a regular basis if at all, but imagine if he turned up after a few seasons. Fans would go wild.
