5 Lost Directors Who Still Have One Great Movie In Them

2. Frank Darabont

Notable Films: The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The MistLast Film: The Mist (2007) Frank Darabont has something of a strange relationship with the film industry. Having made one of the best examples of film ever made and following it up five years later with a film that I feel is every bit it's equal takes some doing. Though since making The Green Mile, Darabont has been somewhat adrift in Hollywood. He has been jumping from project to project, never staying still too long. He's worked on comic books, television shows and ended up back in the cinema, for one of the darkest films I've ever seen; The Mist. Though with only four films under his belt, he's become more well known in recent years due to his stint, albeit briefly, as the showrunner on the AMC series The Walking Dead. Though he was quickly cast aside due to concerns over budget and the overall direction that the film was taking. Since then he's moved onto another TV show. Considering his close relationship with Stephen King, I wanted so badly for him to be announced as the director of the upcoming adaptation of King's Under The Dome, another tale of people being confined in a location, which is a format that he works best with. Hopefully, he can have one more crack at winning the Oscar that he so clearly deserves as never has there been a more talented film maker that doesn't seem to be getting the work.
