5 Movie Duos Who Need To Stop Working Together

4. Ridley Scott & Russell Crowe

Aside from Gladiator (and perhaps to a much lesser extent American Gangster), the Scott/Crowe partnership is yet to hit any consistent heights despite no lack of trying or variety. Certainly Gladiator was entertaining and undoubtedly successful (both critically and financially) but since then Scott and Crowe have failed to reach their previous benchmark. Both talented in their own right, increasingly the films of Scott/Crowe have sloped to the point of predictability and gradually irrelevance. It isn€™t so much that their films are bad per se, but rather they have failed to meet the standard set by their solo work; work which incidentally has been superior to anything they€™ve delivered together. It remains to be seen whether Scott and Crowe will deliver their masterpiece together, perhaps they already have, but if their current trend continues it seems unlikely.
