5 Movie Duos Who Need To Stop Working Together

By Ollie Poppert /

1. Tim Burton & Helena Bonham Carter

Certainly both Burton and Bonham Carter have tasted success in their careers both critically and commercially but together their fortunes haven€™t clicked. Big Fish was at best a passable outing for the two but since then it has been nothing but a rehash of Burton€™s previous work, work exceptionally better than anything these two have produced together. Helena Bonham Carter has been a pivotal member of some of the most revered films of the past 20 years, likewise there was a time when Tim Burton was one of the most respected directors around. Certainly it€™s a collaboration that should work but simply doesn€™t. Together, Burton and Carter have delivered nothing but flashier, more flamboyant versions of previous work that once may or may not have worked. Consistently, they have delivered loud, CGI cramped films with little to no charm or character; empty vessels for Helena Bonham Carter to essentially fulfil the same role over and over. Agree?
