8 Actors To Replace The Avengers

5. Cillian Murphy (Loki)

Despite being a peripheral villain for the majority of the MCU, Loki proves to be a surprisingly difficult character to recast, because it requires finding that very specific type of wiry, sinewy man who can play an impetuous villain with the right level of restrained mania. Perhaps no actor is a better fit for the role (after Tom Hiddleston) than Cillian Murphy, who has proven his ability to play deliciously unhinged villains with his portrayal of The Scarecrow in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. In addition to this, Murphy resembles Hiddleston to a decent degree; his long black hair is very similar, and he also has recognisable, piercing eyes which would make Loki's villainy all that more pronounced. Like Hiddleston, he clearly relishes playing the deranged card, and would light up a role like this.
