Hey, bad movies can have good ideas too. The history of cinema is filled with duds that no matter how stupid or cheesy will always be remembered for their excellent premise. This is a bit different than films that endure simply because they are horrible in all the right ways. For example you could never remake The Room, Birdemic, or Troll 2. Doing so would result in complete failures as the reason why people like those movies is because they were hilariously awful from the beginning. There's nothing to salvage. The same goes for films that are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be like Waterworld. Yet so many bad films with cult classic status could be remade to be outstanding films. Some ideas just deserve a second try.
8. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
A horrible movie for Connery, Sean Connery to retire on, 2003's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen met with almost universal booing from critics and audience alike. However, many admitted the film was at least a very interesting idea. Bringing together many late 19th century literary characters for a tale set in gothic gloom the film was adopted from the graphic novel series written by Alan Moore. The same Alan Moore who wrote Watchman, From Hell, and V for Vendetta. With the exception of V, which still changed almost every element in the novel so the story would adapt better as a movie, is it any wonder that the wild haired Irishmen appears mad, storming off film sets in a thunder cloud of threats? Most of his work's film adaptations have been a little lackluster to say the least. However, there's a lot of good material there to work with and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is no exception as far as Moore's writing is concerned. All it needs is a second chance provided it doesn't suffer from the same seven character mash-up plot as the original did.
