Man of Steel: Everything We Know So Far
A New Superman Score

The timeless, iconic Superman theme created by John Williams for the original 1978 Superman film is instantly and globally recognisable. Creating a new musical score for this new take on the classic superhero is no easy task, and one that composer Hans Zimmer has been intimidated by and struggled with. As most of us know, Hans Zimmer is responsible for creating the fantastic music for Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Only recently has Zimmer opened up about his writing process and the fact that he has to follow in the footsteps of a composing legend. To that end, none of Hans Zimmer's score has yet to be heard by the public, as all music from the two released trailers for the film have been used previously in other movies. The teaser had a track from the Lord of the Rings films, and the full trailer features a track that, while sounding familiar to the music from the film Gladiator, is actually a track called "Elegy" by other, lesser known artists. Man of Steel will feature all new, original music from Hans Zimmer for this new era of Superman.
