With it's July 4th release date looming, The Amazing Spider-Man has upped its clip and buzz count (something we recommend The Dark Knight Rises does... Tic Toc Mr. Nolan) with a Kellogs tie in campaign, from which you can find the clips by scanning a bar code on the back of the boxes with your smart phone. However thanks to the remarkable undercover journalism we feature here on WhatCulture (...Youtube) you can see all three clips here, with a fun little evaluative comment from me; aren't you lucky? CLIP 1 - http://youtu.be/5v2E4J_CcWs A rather interesting clip this one, it appears to be that Peter Parker taunts and plays with his criminal; not the most admirable quality in a superhero it has to be said. Despite this, it's tantalising from a character development point of view. Peter Parker has spent most of his childhood and adolescence on the receiving end of bullies, when given power in his situation, he's going to want to exact a little vengeance; these qualities will make him more relateable when he becomes the all star, kick-ass, superhero we expect him to be. We've all felt that way, like we could bite back, he does, and he learns from it. This Spidey has a dark side...and he doesn't need an emo fringe and black clothing to show it. CLIP 2 -When it comes to lessons of good and evil that we see in the first clip, we also get to see him hopefully learn how to calm the hell down. Needlessly backflipping onto the roof (though, admittedly, awesome and would be something I did EVERYWHERE if I had the capabilities) of a train because a man balanced a beer bottle on his face. Although it looks cool and succeeds in showing off his capabilities, still, he's Spider-Man, CALM DOWN. (Also I don't live in a city, do people really balance beer bottles on peoples faces whilst they're sleeping? Really?) CLIP 3 -My favourite clip, because it's the most believable. So many times super heroes get super strength and their day to day life isn't effected. Surely one would have to hold things a little looser? Pull things a little lighter? Though not going for the most believable of teenage boy scenarios because it would be hauntingly gross and would ruin a 12A rating, this clip is believable, honest and quite honest.
