WWE & 20th Century Fox tag team for future movies
I have yet to see a WWE Film but strangely, I do think they have a place in the movie industry - I really do. If they were kept low-budget, low-risk and high on action - the WWE could make some huge money by distributing them on DVD and not only improving the acting skills of much of their talent (which if you watch Raw on Monday Nights, you can see that some clearly need it) but giving them some great extra exposure to get the wrestlers over with fans and the general public.

Last summer after the flop that was their third and biggest to date release The Condemned, I fully expected the plan for the company to be straight to dvd for the future but then of course the news came a few weeks back that the company had struck a deal with Fox Atomic to bring a $30 million action movie starring John Cena and directed by Renny Harlin to the table. And today's news from Variety, is that it won't be the last partnership between the two companies... World Wrestling Entertainment has found a tag-team partner in 20th Century Fox, inking a first-look deal that gives the studio rights to distrib pics headlined by the company's pro wrestlers. Beginning next year, WWE Films plans to develop, finance and produce at least one theatrical release and up to four direct-to-video titles annually..Seems like a smart move to me. The DTV titles can only be positive for the company in the long run and they shouldn't be embarrassed to release their features this way. If actors like Steven Seagal and Jean-Claude Van Damme have made a living doing it this way then there is surely no reason why the WWE can't do the same.
