6 Things About the Pokemon Games That Defy Logic

3. New Pokemon Come Out of Nowhere

Professor Oak has to feel pretty foolish for leaving out, "There's actually hundreds of Pokemon out there that we've seen but, darnnit, just can't catch! Here, you try." Because Pokemon: Gold and Silver almost get a free pass. It's a new world (Johto), so debuting with new Pokemon is somewhat of a given. But then it turns out that the game is only three years into the future and Kanto is completely accessible. Suddenly, you have entire new species running around with everyone just shrugging their shoulders and saying, "Huh. Never saw that before." Where did they come from? Were they really that good at hiding? Obviously, we know that game designers had to bring in the new Pokemon to sell new games, but as far as "game logic" goes, it certainly doesn't seem to make any. And I'd also like to say that the newest Pokemon look like Neopets that were released from Arkham Asylum two months too early.
