It was long rumored that the cows pasturing the fields of Diablo held some sort of secret, that somewhere in the game you could unlock a secret cow level if you stood near the right one and clicked on it long enough. It was long rumored to the point that it drove the developers at Blizzard completely nuts, and despite several attempts to quell their audience's notion of there being a cow quest, gossip filled the Diablo gaming community with the contrary. Eventually Blizzard threw up their arms and said, "Fine, here you go suckers," and created the secret cow level for Diablo 2. If you beat the game and go back to the Rogue Encampment in Act I, you can create a portal to a green pasture. There you will find hundreds of hell bovines (cows) carrying giant polearms ready to send you to hell. You then must slaughter them all quickly to save your character's life. As they charge you on two feet, they continuously say various intonations of "moo," which are obviously the voices of the employees at Blizzard having the most hilarious day on the job ever. Surely one or two animal rights activists probably didn't agree.
