Some have filed to have it declared as a public nuisance game and have attempted to effectively have it banned; its been cited in courts as training for cold-blooded murderers and as the inspiration for brutal crime sprees across the globe; in some of the cases (after a brutal stabbing in Thailand for example), it was even successfully banned. And were talking tip of the iceberg here. Its fair to say that the GTA franchise is probably the most controversial gaming series ever created. This sort of controversy doesnt just die out. Sure it has quietened down over the years, as GTA IV has aged and fallen somewhat from public consciousness, but with R*s fifth instalment coming just down the road, embers are undoubtedly being re-stoked. When GTA V is eventually released, these boycotters and lobbyists will be back in full force and once again, you watch, the series will have to act as its own martyr.
