15 Artists Who Have Put Themselves On The Map In 2013

3. Nicky Romero

The Dutch have a very strong heritage when it comes to dance music - the likes of Armin van Buuren and Tiesto have been globally renowned for a number of years. Recently, however, eyes and ears have been on another man from the Netherlands who has the potential to be as successful as his fellow countrymen - Nick Rotteveel, otherwise known as Nicky Romero. If you€™ve been to a public place that plays music in the last few months, chances are you€™ll have heard €˜I Could Be The One€™, Romero€™s collaborative effort with Swedish artist Avicii (himself something of a breakout last year with €˜Levels€™). Having first reached number one in the UK in February, the track remains in the top forty. Given his involvement on tracks with Calvin Harris, David Guetta, Zedd and Bingo Players, it would seem that major players on the dance music scene are high on Romero€™s talents. It would seem the public are as well, as his first track following I Could Be The One reached the top forty, and could soon be responsible for contributing to the ascension of Swedish duo Nervo within the industry.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6agp_W-rqgQ
