The form of Roberto Soldado this season is just about one of the few things Valencia can be happy with after an indifferent first half to their La Liga campaign. They are 7th at the moment but the former Real Madrid man's tally of 17 goals from 26 appearances will come as a small crumb of comfort. Liverpool have been interested in the Spaniard for a good while now and were weighing up a move for him back in 2011 under the Kenny Dalglish era. However, a stumbling block in the proposed transfer came in the way of Valencia's then £20 million asking price. Any sale for Luis Suarez however would likely free up the funds to match that valuation should Brendan Rodgers want to make a move for the prodigious goalscorer, who plundered 27 goals last season.
