However, Cisse, a Muslim, has refused to wear the controversial company's logo on religious grounds, but has offered to wear a charity branded kit to resolve the issue. That proposal has been rejected by Newcastle though as the Toon lurch toward yet another disaster that could see their joint-highest goalscorer last season forced out. Sources described the relationship between the two parties yesterday as "strained" and unless a compromise can be brokered, it appears as though Cisse faces an uncertain future at the club.
