West Ham vs Arsenal - Live On ESPN

Saturday€™s late kick off sees Arsenal make the short journey to Upton Park as they take on Sam Allardyce€™s West Ham in the Barclays Premier League. The Hammers are on a fine run of form, with three wins and a draw from their opening six league games placing them above Arsenal in 7th place. They have beaten every London team they have faced so far this season and will be hoping to hold on to that record past Saturday evening. Arsenal meanwhile are recovering from the first real bump in the road to their title challenge after succumbing to a defeat at the hands of Chelsea in front of a home crowd. They managed a recovery of sorts against Olympiakos in the Champions League, with a 3-1 scoreline that flattered their overall performance. The Gunners have shown uncharacteristic sloppiness and defensive frailty in their past two games which West Ham will be sure to try to exploit through the physical presence of Andy Carroll. Arsenal fans however will be hoping that they can produce a convincing performance and put any doubts over the team€™s quality to bed. A win for West Ham would give them a much needed boost over their relegation rivals and place them in a very lofty position in the table. While they have been impressive so far, they have yet to face a stern challenge and are doing well by racking up points while they can. A win for Arsenal on the other hand is imperative; and a convincing win even better. They really need to start moving up the table and closing the gap on their rivals otherwise they could face a very tough task in trying to catch up, and a healthy win at West Ham would be just what they need. West Ham Team News: Andy Carroll is on the road to recovery after he returned to action as a substitute against QPR, and Allardyce might start him against the Gunners. Winston Reid has also recovered from a head injury at Loftus Road but left-back Joey O'Brien is expected to miss out. Jack Collison and Alou Diarra remain long-term injuries for the Hammers. Arsenal Team News: Jack Wilshere made his long-awaited comeback against West Brom in a reserve game earlier this week but is not in contention for a first-team place just yet. But centre-back Per Mertesacker has recovered from an alleged flu virus and Wenger is expected to pick him over Koscielny in defence. Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is still out with an ankle injury, while midfielder Abou Diaby is back on the treatment table after picking up a thigh injury in midweek.
