Another brilliant TV show that was outrageously denied a fifth series was The IT Crowd, which was tragically brought to a close back in 2011 after four seasons. Following reluctant IT technicians Roy Trenneman (Chris O'Dowd) and Maurice Moss (Richard Ayoade) along with self-styled "relationship manager" Jen Barber (Katherine Parkinson), the "Have you tried turning it off and on again" comedy entertained viewers for four happy years. With a terrific cast that also included Noel Fielding as the unhinged goth Richmond and Matt Berry as Douglas Reynholm, the show was the third most successful sitcom creation of Graham Linehan, following Father Ted (co-written with Arthur Mathews) and Black Books (co-written with Dylan Moran) and today remains a cult classic among fans. Its demise was self inflicted when Linehan declined to make a new series and, unfortunately, looks unlikely to be rebooted.
