After all the crap that Walt has been putting his family through, the thoughtlessness he's shown as a father, husband and brother-in-law, the selfishness and arrogance that was spawned by his manipulative genius ever since the fulminate mercury incident in Crazy Handful of Nothin' (the moment that starts at 5:42 in this clip), can you imagine how unsatisfactory it would be if Skyler took him back in with open arms, no questions asked? He continues to produce his formula and to murder anyone who stands between him and the ladder of the drug business, until he eventually becomes the Scarface of Albuquerque. You may think this is too far fetched seeing how deathly scared and resentful Skyler has been acting towards him, but if she decides to sacrifice her happiness for the sake of her kids? We all know how much she loves her kids, and she's smart enough to know that Walt is smarter than her, and way more resourceful, so she might just give in and try to enjoy a life of luxury. She calls him back from that Denny's restaurant opening scene from the Season 5 premiere before he gets to meet up with Lawson and they become one big happy family. Hank's realization from Gliding Over All is dismissed because he fails to find evidence. Skyler and Walt convince Marie that he needs to quit the force and he eventually spirals out of control, resulting in him getting a heart attack while making his beer in the garage. Ball: Dropped.
