This is another story I expected not to like, but I loved it immensely. Tony Curran is exceptional as Van Gogh, and the use of color and cinematography in this episode, appropriate due to it being about an artist, really works well. I did also approve of the fact that at the end we learned that giving a man an exceptional day isnt always going to be enough. That Van Gogh still kills himself at the end of the story is sad, surprising and somewhat daring. I mean, yes, they couldnt have had it any other way, but Im glad that the writers didnt just gloss over it without comment. And, it must also be said, that museum scene chokes me up every time. The Eleventh Doctor has, so far, been heavily dominated by River Song story lines (and youll note that only one River Song story is on this list). Hes also had a lot of Amy/Rory soap opera going on. I do sincerely hope that once Amy and Rory are gone, we also see the last of River Song, and that this Doctor and his new companion are allowed to continue on and become something truly great. And now, as we end this list, here's a video showing moments from every. Single. Story. Enjoy!(special thanks to Babelcolour for all the great tributes they've made that I've posted up here! Well done, all around!)
