Awards season is well underway, with the big festivals showcasing the latest 'worthy' movies, and chatter about the Oscars ramping up - but it goes as much for TV as it does movies.

With the new fall season on the horizon, the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards take place on September 17, honouring the best of the small screen from June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018.

The primetime nominees are led by The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, followed by Atlanta, SNL, and The Handmaid's Tale, while Netflix have toppled HBO for the most nominations by network overall. Some are locked in, other races are wide open, and there are sure to be plenty of suprises when the awards are handed out in the Microsoft Theatre.

Borstein may be better known for her voice work as Lois on Family Guy, but she made a huge impression in the debut season of Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. As the wise-cracking smartass sidekick, Borstein's sharp delivery absolutely shines, stealing every scene she's in.

Will Win: Kate McKinnon

It looks like a two-horse race between McKinnon and Borstein, and fortune often favours the nominee with previous success. McKinnon has won this award the past two years, and the SNL hype train is still rolling, so she'll be an easy pick to make it a hat-trick.
