8 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling (10 June)

Eddie Edwards vs. Joe Doering would have been a Japanese wrestling main event if this were a couple years ago, but here, it was a complete shambles.
Doering dominated about 80% of the match, with Eddie only just mounting a comeback in the last stages. Literally the moment he got in control, though, the former two-time World Champion found himself the target of both Rhino and Deaner, ultimately leading to a disqualification win for Edwards when Deaner was caught intruding.
Satoshi Kojima making the save post-match was meaningless. Easily laying out Rhino and Deaner, the Japanese legend came eye to eye with Doering, sending him out of the ring in one swoop, leaving Joe looking feeble at ringside while he was held back by Violent By Design. A guy like Doering would never give up so easily. His aura is fading every time he plunders ever so slowly around the ring as if he’s Hans f*cking Moleman.
It wasn’t an enjoyable match; its aftermath was, somehow, even more futile than the bout itself. The purpose here was to make you eager to watch Against All Odds’ Kojima vs. Doering bout. After this, you have to question if Kojima being brought into IMPACT was ever worth it.
