WWE: What To Do With CM Punk After Wrestlemania Defeat?

By Vectron44 /

1. Feud With Paul Heyman There is little doubt that CM Punk and Paul Heyman will eventually split at some point. Their promos together have been magical, but Punk is not someone who can just be attached with Paul Heyman forever. However, whether it will be a clean break or something far more messy remains to be seen... One can see the scenario. CM Punk, after a brutal bout with the Undertaker, is removed from action for a couple of months. The dust settles for a couple of weeks. Perhaps Heyman does a couple of little things with Brock Lesnar, but otherwise he lays relatively low. Then, as another heel is strutting his stuff, Paul Heyman gives him some special attention. Perhaps he buttonholes the superstar in the locker room and says that he can be the next big thing (ha ha) in the WWE. With Heyman in their corner, all of a sudden the career of the superstar is starting to look better than ever. Where he was once a midcarder, now he is looking like something much more. Then CM Punk returns on the scene. Heyman derides him as yesterday's man, claiming that the Summer of Punk was just a fad and it died with his loss to the Undertaker. Heyman claims that his new superstar will be ten times the star Punk is and declares that if Punk believes himself to still be the Best in the World, he'll pit himself against Heyman's new prodigy. There are a number of benefits to a feud like this. Firstly, it gets Punk and Heyman talking still, but as opponents- which could be amazing to watch. Secondly, it gives a young superstar an amazing push as well as an oppurtunity for a great multi-PPV feud with one of the best technicians WWE has to offer. Thirdly, it allows Punk to gradually evolve his character from heel to tweener to (possibly) babyface without any sudden leaps.
