10 Insanely Dark Joker Moments That'll Never Make It To Film
10. Killing Innocents With Shards Of Poisonous Glass Lovers & Madmen
Whereas so many of The Jokers most vicious acts have a personal edge to them, Lovers & Madmen saw him unleash his wrath on the innocent bystanders of Gotham City. Sure, the whole Lovers & Madmen arc went against established Joker tales like The Killing Joke and The Man Who Laughs, but it was still an interesting story nonetheless. A key to the enjoyment of the tale, if that is indeed the right word, is the moment where the Clown Prince releases a blimp on course for Gothams Twin Towers. The GCPD do their best to track it but it explodes high above Gotham. But its not the explosion thats the big thing here, its the fact that the explosion causes poisonous shards of glass to rain down on Gotham City. As a result, the sidewalk is soon dotted with sliced-apart, grinning infected innocents - making for a macabre sight that would almost always feel out of place on the big screen.
