10 Justice League Members More Powerful Than Superman

9. Green Lantern

Wonder Woman Superman
DC Comics

Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, Simon Baz, Jessica Cruz and countless others are in possession of one of the most powerful artefacts in the DC universe, the Green Power Ring.

It allows its wearer to tap into the Emotional Spectrum using Willpower, granting them the ability to manifest anything they want out of hard light. Their construct's sturdiness, power and range all depending on the user's willpower, their concentration and their ability to overcome fear.

A Green Lantern's power is basically limitless as long as the ring has enough power stored in it or they have access to a power battery. Their only constraint is their own imagination and mental state, with each individual bringing something new to the table.

Hal Jordan has been revealed to contain so much willpower that he can function as a power battery for himself and others, John Stewart brings military strategy and engineering, Guy Gardner's imagination and unpredictability brings the wildest constructs to life and Kyle Rayner brings complexity and sheer power as he was once the host for Ion, the embodiment of willpower itself, and we're not even talking about him as the White Lantern.

All of them have been in the Justice League at one point or another and - with enough concentration and the ideal state of mind - hold enough power to defeat Superman by sheer force of will, able to generate constructs hard enough to knock him unconscious, trap him or even pierce his skin. The Green Lantern Corps was even able to imprison Superboy Prime, a young version of Superman with no weaknesses and enough power to punch... reality.
