Angelica "Angel" Jones didn't have the easiest path before she joined the X-Men. In fact, it wouldn't be until 2013 that she would take her place as a teacher at the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning, as before that there was the little matter of her being a member of the Hellions.
While some mutants are sent to Professor X when their mutant abilities first kick in, there are others that aren't as lucky and head off to places like the Massachusetts Academy. This is where Angelica Jones ended up and under the tutelage of one Emma Frost she was soon brainwashed into joining the Hellions as they battled the X-Men. Eventually, she would break her programming before heading off to a better life and it's this story that would make a great adaptation for the silver screen.
It would allow Marvel to easily introduce the Hellfire Club and a full on throw-down with the White Queen would make for riveting viewing (as long as they recast the January Jones), and as Firestar has been a member of the Avengers in the past there is plenty of crossover potential between Marvel's two biggest groups of heroes.
