10 Marvel Characters More Powerful Than Captain Marvel

She's the strongest hero in the MCU, but the Marvel Universe has stronger.

With the release of both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame into the MCU, there's been a lot of debate about how powerful Captain Marvel actually is.

While she's pretty powerful in both the film and comic universe, there are still plenty of other figures in the Marvel Universe who are more powerful than her. Most could be set to make their MCU debuts within the decade, and while Carol Danvers is still ridiculously strong, as the old saying goes, "there's always a bigger fish."

There are an almost limitless supply of characters who have greater powers than Danvers, whether that be through them having more abilities to draw from, a greater ability to control them, or quite simply just by having substantially stronger powers.

Although Captain Marvel's power levels do fluctuate over her comic run - for example, when she went under the alias Binary, her powers were significantly greater - she generally isn't insanely powerful, as she only uses half her powers unless she is in life-threatening danger.

With her defeat at the hands of characters like the Hulk or Rogue, we've been made readily aware that, despite all her badass powers, Captain Marvel is a drop in the proverbial bucket of powerful Marvel characters.

10. Rogue

Were you to place a Rogue who had only just begun training with her powers against Captain Marvel, the fight would be pretty decidedly in the Captain's favour. Rogue's ability to take people's powers proved one of the more complicated move-sets to train with, resulting in her accidentally possessing or being possessed by people she tried to use her own powers on.

However, modern-day Rogue no longer has to worry about the issue, as the negative aspect of her powers was erased in the Messiah Complex series. Perhaps more importantly, Rogue also gained the ability to permanently take on a person's powers permanently should she be in contact with them for long enough, which currently has allowed her continual control of Wonder Man's considerable power set.

Perhaps more importantly, Rogue has also canonically defeated Captain Marvel before - albeit, during the time she went as 'Ms.Marvel' - taking both her powers and her memories the first time the two interacted.

Although Rogue and Captain Marvel are no longer outright rivals, there is still the strong suggestion that, were they to go for another round, Rogue would come out on top yet again.
