Dark Nights: Metal has been DC's most ambitious event since starting its Rebirth initiative in 2016. With a full cast of characters, beautiful artwork, and some of the most epic battles put to page, Metal showed us a side of DC we've never seen before.

Centered around Batman and the Bat-God Barbatos, it's once again up to the Justice League to stop this force of evil, only this time the effects are set to shake the multiverse to its core.

From the debut of The Dark Knights of The Multiverse, to the shocking discovery of Carter Hall and Starro, writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo really put out all the stops, making this story truly worth a read. It has horror, humor and spectacle in spades, while also adding a few wrinkles of its own to DC's continuity.

When all is said and done Metal definitely had its share of jaw-dropping moments, and just like rock music had our pulse pounding and our hearts racing as Barbatos threatens to plunge the world into darkness. It's time to crank the volume up to eleven again, as as we explore 10 METAL moments straight out of Dark Nights: Metal.

10. Batman Evades The Justice League

Batman is considered one of the most dangerous members of the Justice League. With time for planning and preparation the World's Greatest Detective can accomplish more than anyone, and Bruce Wayne's determination and willpower are cornerstones of the character. While most consider the Dark Knight fearless, Metal shows us Batman in a different light.

As Bruce connects the dots that are signaling the arrival of Barbatos, a villain he has met in the past, his behavior becomes erratic. When it is explained that Barbatos plans to use Wayne as a doorway, he takes it upon himself to find a solution.

Choosing to leave the Justice League in the dark (pun intended), a panicked Batman steals the last piece of Nth metal from Kendra Saunders escaping by riding a dinosaur. He then leads the League on a wild goose chase, complete with holograms, dinosaurs and enough Batmen to aid in his evasion.

With every hero available in hot pursuit, Batman is able to escape most of the league undetected by using some of the members of the Bat-Family as decoys. It is not until Wonder Woman and Superman finally figure out Bruce's plan, that they find their elusive teammate.
