10 Most Ridiculous Supervillain Plots In Comics History

4. Doctor Doom Plans To Hurl The Baxter Building Into The Sun

Victor Von Doom's changed a lot since his first appearance in 1962. Right now he's the saviour of reality and revered as a god in Secret Wars, but even despite the widening of his purview to involve domination of the entire universe, there's still one thing that vexes him: that blasted Richards! And the rest of the Fantastic Four, to some degree. In his second-ever appearance, Fantastic Four #6, Doom makes plans to be rid of his former friend and life-long nemesis in a must unusual way. By teaming with undersea prince Namor, the Sub-Marine, he intends to rocket the superhero family's skyscraper base the Baxter Building into the sun. Naturally. Makes more sense than trying to storm the building and dealing with its sci-fi defences, doesn't it? Sort of. It's still a pretty ridiculous plan. And it goes properly off the rails when Doom leaves his co-conspirator in the building with them. Namor, not quite ready to die, foils the plot at the last minute.
