10 Reasons The DC Animated Universe MUST Return

9. The Fans Want It

The fans of the DCAU are legion. Batman TAS started twenty-eight years ago; almost three decades has done nothing to dampen enthusiasm for the shows.

Recent events with the DCEU live movies have raised even more interest in the older shows. The DCAU universe as a whole could very well be the best representation of the DC universe aside from the comics. The DCEU has moments of magic, and the Arrowverse has intricate world-building, but the DCAU had both of these plus a widely accessible fanbase for all ages and levels of fandom.

A quick search online will reveal dozens of videos of the biggest players in the DCAU, both production and voices, being asked at conventions or meet-and-greets if there is ever going to be any kind of DCAU reunion. For years, the hashtag #JLReunion has been on Twitter, slowly gaining traction, and there are thousands of tweets and retweets of this tag, including by the original voice actors themselves.

The recent reveal that after much fan pressure DC is going to release the 'Snyder Cut' of Justice League has put even more fuel on the fire of fans who want their DCAU back!
