22. Charles Pays For 3 Drinks With The Equivalent Of £75 - X-Men: First Class

When young Charles Xavier is showing off his best skills to chat up a young lady in the bar at Oxford, he orders two drinks, one for him and one for her, and then a cola, which he never actually receives, and when he finds that Raven is having one of her mischievous turns, he decides to pay and leave. He hands over a folded £5 note, which for some reason doesn't send the barman into a flying rage, despite the fact that £5 in 1962 would have the equivalent value today of around £75.

Xavier must have been using his Jedi mind skills well, considering attempting to pay with a £20 note in English pubs these days is enough to warrant a full-scale riot behind the bar.
