3 Ups And 7 Downs From X-Men: Apocalypse

The Ups

3. Quicksilver's Scene Is Great Fun

Xmen Apocalypse Quicksilver

The highlight of Days Of Future Past was - unequivocally - Quicksilvers slow-mo scene. That whole movie was pretty great, with time travel that kinda held up to scrutiny, but those two minutes were nothing short of awesome.

The sequence was such a big hit that it gets a reprise in Apocalypse, only on a much larger scale, with Peter casually speeding through the X-Mansion saving students to Eurythmics Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This. There's more jokes and a greater variance in his powers, which is a lot more than can be said about Marvel's Quicksilver in Civil War. Oh, too soon?

However, despite more stuff going on, because the sequence comes a bit out of nowhere it doesnt top the Pentagon one. Still, it gives you everything you want from Quicksilver and for a brief moment (as well as a couple later on), the movie is genuinely fun.
