IDW

The hit Netflix series GLOW is one of the most critically acclaimed and widely viewed pieces of wrestling media ever produced. Inspired by the real-life Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling promotion from the 1980s, this drama-deep program managed to win over legions of wrestling fans and non-wrestling fans alike. Naturally the charismatic characters and clever story elements of the hit Netflix series translates perfectly into the pages and panels of our favorite storytelling medium.

In March 2019, IDW released its first GLOW comic, part of a four issue series written by Tini Howard and illustrated by Hannah Templer. Overseen by the Netflix series co-creators Liz Flahive and Carly Mensh, this release was so well received that IDW decided launch a second series.

In 2020, IDW will release GLOW vs. The Baby Face, written by the unlikely tag-team of actress Aimee Garcia (Lucifer, Dexter) and former WWE superstar AJ Mendez (AJ Lee). The talented Hannah Templer will be reprising her duties as series artist. Flahive and Mensh will continue to superintend the new IDW series, ensuring the creative success of the upcoming publication. The unique perspectives offered by Garcia , an actress, and Mendez, a wrestler, awards the reader with a potentially unparalleled level of authenticity. Who is better suited to write about actresses turned wrestlers than an actress and a wrestler?
